September 8, 2021 | Contributor
Here are the latest developments for the second half of August!
As always. our discord server is the place to bug us in case you have any queries or want to discuss all things Marlin and Layer 0. For community-related discussions, our Telegram channel is the place to be!
Engineering Updates
- Created mev-bor, a fork of bor with bundle handling similar to mev-geth
- Started adding Polygon+bor support for mev-inspect to analyze historical and future MEV opportunities
- Developed a new mev-relay to propagate MEV bundles and handle spam prevention
- Triaged a critical packet drop bug in libuv and landed a fix upstream. While obviously very important to Marlin, it will also have far reaching benefits for other projects using libuv like Node.js, etc
- Fixed a resource leak which was causing relays to crash in resource constrained environments
Community Updates
- Governance proposal on reducing staking undelegation time put into effect
A proposal to reduce the staking undelegation time for MPond and POND from 30 days to 7 days was put up for a vote and passed. MPond holders who set up voting or were staking were eligible to vote.
- Other governance proposals up for discussion
A bunch of new proposals has been put up for discussion and would subsequently be pushed for an on-chain vote. You can participate in the conversation on our Discord server, Discourse forum or Commonwealth forum.
In order to vote, you're required to set up your voting account prior to the proposal being pushed on-chain.
We suggest setting up your voting account immediately to not miss out the chance of voting on any proposal. You may do so by visiting https://app.marlin.pro/proposals and clicking on the Setup Voting button towards the left.
You can either delegate your votes to your own address or another.
If you have MPond staked currently, your voting account is automatically setup and no further action is required. You can vote even while your MPond remains staked.
- Partnered with Commonwealth Labs to build a decentralized community
We partnered with Commonwealth Labs, an all-in-one decentralized platform for blockchain communities to discuss proposals, project enhancements & other pertinent topics.
🤝 The collaboration will help leverage and utilize Common Protocol's seamless UI & platform, taking Marlin to the next level to better engage our community.
⚖️ Proposals have already been put up on the forum and we invite you to join the discussion.
Over 793 million POND has been staked in the form of MPond (719 MPond equivalent to 719 million POND) and POND (74 million POND) tokens. Stats can be found here.
Looking to stake? There are more than 60 cluster operators to choose from.
Our dummies guide should get you through the staking process. Reach out to us on Discord if you’re facing any issues, need to clarify doubts, or need assistance.
